Donate Here to Feed Underserved Chilean Kids: www.gofundme.com/f/help-feed-underserved-kids-at-cam-in-chile?

My mother was born and raised in Chile, a second home for me where my heart and my family reside. My aunt Miri runs CAM, a nonprofit after school program that offers a safe space with fun activity for children who come from very unstable homes in Santiago, Chile. Today, about 35 children between 5 and 13 years old participate in the neighborhood of Peñalolén. This neighborhood is considered the most populated in the metropolitan region and has the highest rates of alcoholism, drug addiction, dropout, and child prostitution.

Recently, there have been many protests in Chile that are fighting issues such as economic inequality, poor public health and education, and a high cost of living. During the past two weeks, there has been a lot of violence. The three supermarkets that were close to CAM caught fire, which makes it very difficult to get food for children who come to CAM.

Chilean singer and political activist Víctor Jara, whose 1971 song “El derecho a vivir en paz” ("The right to live in peace") has become a peace anthem of these protests. I sampled Jara's "Aqui me quedo" in a song called "Yo no quiero la patria dividida" ("I don't want the country to be divided"). I do not want the country divided; I want a new home in Chile full of economic equality, unity and peace for all, so that the children who come to my aunt Miri’s program CAM can have food and protection.

If you want to help these children, I started a gofundme with the goal of raising $1000 for the children of CAM before my birthday, on November 27. Your donation would mean a lot for these children, for us and for the peace effort in Chile.
